So, I just learned about mirror neurons (where have I been?) and I’m horribly intrigued. Basically, if you see someone do something, like tap dance, your brain cells are activated in the same areas as if you were doing the tap dance yourself. The book I’m reading notes that children that have parents who fight a lot have difficulty establishing meaningful relationships, suggesting that the witnessing of the fight is comparable to actually partaking in the fight. I would imagine that, likewise, if you garden in front of you young child, they may end up liking gardening for the same reasons.
This gives new meaning to “Actions speak louder than words”, huh?
