So, I just learned about mirror neurons (where have I been?) and I’m horribly intrigued. Basically, if you see someone do something, like tap dance, your brain cells are activated in the same areas as if you were doing the tap dance yourself. The book I’m reading notes that children that have parents who fight a lot have difficulty establishing meaningful relationships, suggesting...

I'm laughing about this...
So I tried out for the Medical Center’s newly formed Symphony Orchestra. I played flute fairly regularly from 4th through 12th. I slipped a little freshman year, practiced sporadically my sophomore year, and stopped spring semester. I have played at most 5 times during the last 4 years, but somehow I beat out 15 other people for one of two spots in the flute section. Woot.

I was worried about my one bad grade for Stats, but the professor just gave everyone 10 points on that quiz, so that raised my grade from a B+ to an A+. So I’m not so worried anymore.

Nothing is better when you’re helping out a fellow classmate with the homework and she says ‘You should be teaching this class!’

Me: Where is the mint?
Jason: Right here.
Me: This is cilantro.
Jason: It was in the mint bin.
Me: But it is cilantro.
Jason: Well, I thought it smelled like cilantro, and I thought it looked like cilantro, but it was in the mint bin. So it is mint.

Sitting at my desk, alternating between doing Statistics homework and posting to my scrapbooking group. Also, thank God for Google Reader, otherwise I would have nothing to do at work beside work.

Homework = Done! And I actually understand it! Now on to the rest of the list!
Stream of Consciousness?
I think I’m feeling sad/frustrated/anxious right now. (Emphasis on the think; I really am not sure how to describe it.) I feel like I’m losing track of what I have to do today, so maybe if I write it down, it will hopefully make me happier. So: I need to finish my homework for class today - should not be too hard, should not be stressing me out, as it will only take a half an hour at...
Another date for the calendars...
Yesterday was the official First Pie Day of the Year! (Strawberry-Raspberry-Blackberry, for the record.)
Weekend Checklist So Far...
Spent 3 1/2 hours Friday night scrapbooking. Yes, scrapbooking. On a Friday night. Finally broke out the sewing machine from Christmas and made a dress, the first I’ve done without a pattern. Made spanakopita, baked beans and Texas caviar. Proceeded to eat all of that. Watched 3 episodes of Lost with Jason - he got to remark how hot Kate was and I got to comment on Sawyer’s...
Regarding the previous picture...
Me: Look at that claw hand I have going on. Where did that come from?
Dave: I think that's how Shaolin monks drink car bombs.

Stop arranging your schedule around other people’s. Finally let other people schedule around you.

5 months ago, this would have happened right in front of my house. It’s too close to home, as it happened to my friend’s boyfriend. I’m so thankful he’s ok; they are too nice of people to have anything bad happen to them.

Spur of the moment, dodgy quality pictures taken via cellular device.
– the caption in my Flickr’s set for cell phone pictures. I don’t remember writing that - is it the default description, or am I slightly witty at times?
We kicked trivia's ass
This is one for the history books: Team DJoMMJinapTion won a bar towel and glass with a score of 19 out of 22! (A smattering of answers: puffer fish, Shakers, Nepal, Tony Stark, Manchester United and Chelsea, Danica Patrick, Big Brown, Cirque de Soleil and Jeremiah Wright.)

Question
Sometimes I wonder if I know the difference between depending on someone to be there for me and being dependent on that person. Is it a fine line, or am I just missing the gigantic gap?
The small was so big, it was like a medium!
